Etowah Residents,We received word late Friday afternoon that Red Bird issued a “Notice of Dismissal and Withdrawal of Application” to purchase the Etowah Sewer Company. They have formally notified the NC Utilities Commission of their intent.
“NOW COMES Red Bird Utility Operating Company, LLC (“Red Bird”) and hereby gives notice of its dismissal and withdrawal of Red Bird’s Application for Transfer of Public Utility Franchise and for Approval of Rates filed in these dockets on October 8, 2020 (“Application”), as the Purchase and Sale Agreement between Central States Water Resources, Inc. and Etowah Sewer Company, Inc. (which was filed as Confidential Attachment G to Red Bird’s Application) has been terminated as of February 29, 2024. Accordingly, Red Bird respectfully requests that the Commission cancel the oral argument scheduled for March 5, 2024.”

And right now, you can help us by ensuring you and all of your neighbors vote today (early voting) or on Tuesday, March 5 for the GOP Primary County Commissioners race. Every vote counts. Check to see if your neighbors and friends need a ride and don't forget to bring your ID.
Please note that while the County Commissioners represent five districts in the county, voters should cast a vote for both open seats, and that republicans and unaffiliated voters can pull a republican ballot.
You can vote today until 3 PM at the Board of Elections, 75 E Central Street, Hendersonville.
You can vote on Tuesday, March 5th at:Etowah Library, 101 Brickyard Road, or Etowah Elementary School, 320 Etowah School Road.
