Etowah Park
We expressed our concern about changes to the Etowah Park improvements to Commissioner Bill Lapsley and he asked County Manager John Mitchell to contact us. We have since talked with Mr. Mitchell and Chris Todd, Director of Business and Community Development. A meeting is planned for March 20th , Wednesday, at 1:30 at the Lions Club Den at 447 Etowah School Road with Mr. Todd. The meeting is open to all interested in attending. In preparation for this meeting, the Etowah Valley Preservation Society sent out a survey to obtain community input on the park for the meeting and within days received 250 responses.
A summary of these responses is available at: https://www.preserveetowahvalley.com/_files/ugd/b893bc_956a1f6a4acf4d5b95ca45e4922d2d9a.pdf2045

Election Day
Election results are available at this site. Thanks for everyone who voted. Etowah’s votes made a difference.
Meetings of Note This Week
Two other regular County meetings will be held this week: the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting and the Planning Board meeting. Both are held at the 100 King Street Meeting first floor meeting room. The TAC meeting is held at 4 PM on Wednesday, March 20th, and the Planning Board meeting is held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, March 21st. Attending these meetings is a way of finding out what’s happening in the County. The meetings are open to all and individuals can provide comments at the beginning of each meeting.
EVPS wants to continue to provide you with information about our community, our county, and our state activities that affect our town. If you would like to help continue to report these kinds of stories, please let us know. We have learned over the past year that there are some excellent researchers in Etowah.
